Our good friend, Karen Harlow, convinced us (it wasn’t hard!) that the place to be in early November is Palm Desert, California, and boy, do we agree! Carolyn and Cynthia introduced the new Spring/Summer 2009 collection during an afternoon trunk show at Karen’s fabulous boutique, Karen Harlow for the Home.

With furniture from Charles Fradin, Oly and Grange and home décor accessories by Match, John Robshaw and Frances Palmer, Karen styles the most beautiful vignettes that are a pleasure to behold. And her clients are the chicest in the desert – great fans of Diane James Designs.

Meanwhile, Diane was creating designs for Harry Heissmann’s room at the Susan G. Komen Holiday House which opened November 10th.

Each room of the house had a holiday theme and Harry’s was Easter, a fanciful collection of modern furniture and accessories including a very large chocolate bunny.

She filled window boxes with yellow and white paper whites, tulips, primroses and freesia – springtime flowers which added the perfect touch and finished the room beautifully.
